September 14 Long Time No PostI haven't looked in for a while. I should explain if only for continuity that in April I became very ill and was shipped off to the hospital for 5 weeks. Then another 9 weeks of rehab and assistive living. Then a new house. I have done some updates to the birthday calculator since coming home but I wanted to apologize to all those who wrote in or left comments. I did eventually read them all but there are just too many to answer. Look for more updates coming in the weeks ahead. This illness may slow me down but it's not going to stop me. August 28 Horoscope Based Lucky NumbersAdded to the Birthday Calculator horoscope based lucky number, lucky days, lucky dates, ruling planet, opposition numbers and opposition sign. More to come! December 17 What Your First Name MeansI've added a new feature to the What Your Name Means page. It now includes the meaning of your first name. If your name isn't in the database then this item will not be displayed, but the database contains tens of thousands of names so there's a good chance it is in there. December 02 DelaysMy apologies for the delays in answering emails etc. I've been going through a rough time recently health-wise but when I'm able I'm working on a major new feature for the What Your Name Means page. Assuming all goes well I hope to have it up within the next few weeks. I won't reveal what it is just yet but I'm sure you will find it interesting and useful both. October 22 Hebrew Birth Date AdjustmentI've modified The Birthday Calculator to display the birth dates on the Hebrew calendar for births both before and after sundown. October 15 Mayan Calendar Long Count Birth DateAdded the Mayan calendar long count date of your birth date to The Birthday Calculator. The 584,283 correlation is used in this function. August 21 Top 10 Songs of Your Birth YearJust added to The Birthday Calculator. It now shows the top 10 songs of the year of your birth with links to Amazon to preview or purchase one or more if you like. Example for 1956: Top songs of 1956 Don't Be Cruel/Hound Dog by Elvis Presley The Wayward Wind by Gogi Grant Rock and Roll Waltz by Kay Starr Memories Are Made of This by Dean Martin August 02 Spreading The LoadAt certain times of the day you may be redirected to a second server when you use the Birthday Calculator. This happens transparently and you may not even notice it, but as long as it is paulsadowski.org you know it's OK and that it is still the one and only Birthday Calculator. This is being done to minimize excess bandwidth usage charges of thousands of dollars per month. (I'm not kidding. Thousands of dollars per month.) July 26 Hebrew CalendarAdded the date of your birthday according to the Hebrew calendar to the Birthday Calculator.
Also I've partnered with Microsoft/Hotmail to offer you free email accounts under the domain name TheBirthdayCalculator.com. These are Hotmail accounts with 250MB of space and eventually 2GB when transitioned to Windows Live Mail but unlike a normal Hotmail account your email address will be @TheBirthdayCalcultor.com. For example, you could be YourName@TheBirthdayCaclulator.com where YourName is any name of your choice. You can find the links to sign-up on the Birthday Calculator page or on my site's main page. I've added a free reminder service from Grow Flowers. This is a totally free service that will send you reminders of events of your choosing. I've dealt with Grow Flowers for a while and trust them to maintain your privacy. There's a graphic on the bottom of the Birthday Calculator results page where you can sign up or you can click on this link, Reminder Service.
July 11 Celebrity BirthdaysNow you can see which celebrities share your birthdate on The Birthday Calculator. Each listing will show the names and birth year of the celebrities who were born on the same day as you.
I've also added a popup window which shows you a graphic of the Chinese character representing the name of the Chinese year in which you were born. July 08 Australian StatisticsI've added some statistics from Australia to the Birthday Calculator results. I'm looking into adding other countries as well as time and the opportunity permits. June 21 Egyptian Season & Month of Your BirthI've added the month and season of your birth according to the Egyptian calendar to the Birthday Calculator. Native American Zodiac SignI've added your Native American Zodiac sign to the Birthday Calculator results.
More coming soon! June 12 Which Name Should I Use?When entering your name in the What Your Name Means page, some people are not sure what to enter.
In my scheme, you should eneter the most unique name that represents you in your life. For most people that is the full name as it appears on their birth certificate.
Some people, however, have a different name now because of adoption, long-term marriage, legal change of name, personal change of name.
Some people at some time in their lives have decided to call themselves by a name that is not their legal name. (They may not like their first name, for example, and adopt a nickname.) This name now represents them in the daily world and that is the name they should use if they have been using it for a considerable length of time.
Some in the field may disagree with this approach but it's the method I use and it's served me and my visitors well.
If you have any doubts, please, try your name in multiple forms and see which result is best for you.
One last comment. Please do not enter just your first name. That is not unique. Your results may not be accurate.
You are able to enter single names for things like busines entities, pets, cherished objects, etc. because those names do represent those things. But your first and last name at a minimum will produce best results for a person.
