The Birthday Calculator now includes a Chinese Fortune Cookie for you.

I haven't looked in for a while. I should explain if only for continuity that in April I became very ill and was shipped off to the hospital for 5 weeks. Then another 9 weeks of rehab and assistive living. Then a new house.

I have done some updates to the birthday calculator since coming home but I wanted to apologize to all those who wrote in or left comments. I did eventually read them all but there are just too many to answer.

Look for more updates coming in the weeks ahead. This illness may slow me down but it's not going to stop me.

Added to the Birthday Calculator horoscope based lucky number, lucky days, lucky dates, ruling planet, opposition numbers and opposition sign.

The Birthday Calculator

I've added a new feature to the What Your Name Means page. It now includes the meaning of your first name. If your name isn't in the database then this item will not be displayed, but the database contains tens of thousands of names so there's a good chance it is in there.

Right now this is considered an experimental feature and may be withdrawn later if it causes excessive bandwidth usage or slows down the page loads or site too much.

My apologies for the delays in answering emails etc. I've been going through a rough time recently health-wise but when I'm able I'm working on a major new feature for the What Your Name Means page. Assuming all goes well I hope to have it up within the next few weeks.

I won't reveal what it is just yet but I'm sure you will find it interesting and useful both.

I've modified The Birthday Calculator to display the birth dates on the Hebrew calendar for births both before and after sundown.

 Added the Hijra, Islamic calendar date of your birth date to The Birthday Calculator.

I've changed the way the date you entered appears on the top of the Birthday Calculator. It now appears as day-of-month Month Year, such as

 2 February 1954

This serves two purposes:

First it clarifies the date for those whose date formats are not the same as the US.

Second, when you use the pop-up link for the printer friendly version, the first item on the page will be the date in the format above in bold and slightly larger than the normal text. This should look better for printed reports given to others or saved in children's books or just about any other way you may use them.
